How it works -

1. Use this listing to submit your interest for the following classes (see below)

2. The class can be conducted on a weekdays or weekends (Day/night time)

3. This will be a private class where you can choose to learn with us through Zoom or in-person at your specified location

4. Class date and timings will be arranged with interested students.

5. For in-person sessions, we only allow 1 student at a time (exceptions may be considered for couples and members from the same household)

6. Payment will be arranged after we sort out class dates with interested students. For international students, we will arrange a special listing for you to make payment online. For Singapore-based students, you can choose to make payment via Paynow, bank transfer or Card (online)

Mode of Delivery

Classes will be held either online (Zoom/Google Meet) - you do not need a Google Account

or at your specified location (house visit)

Materials

• All materials can be couriered to you including your calligraphy starter kit (if applicable) and our nicnkotori study notes and practice sheets. (Only available to students based in Singapore)

• Overseas-based students will receive separate instructions on where they can purchase materials locally. A PDF version of our class notes and practice sheets will be provided.

• All students will have access to our Google Classroom page with relevant readings and resources for reference.

Available offerings

• Introduction to Pointed Pen Calligraphy (2-session) - USD265 (~SGD$350)

  • Introduces you to Modern pointed pen calligraphy and Traditional (neat) pointed pen calligraphy. We will focus on one particular style in-class for lowercase practice.

  • 2 session classes (2 hour per session)

  • Assignments will be provided (students may choose to complete for additional feedback)

  • Total contact time: minimum 5 hours

  • Recommended for complete beginners

• Extension Course - 4-week Copperplate Calligraphy Program (Intermediate) - USD$490(SGD$ 650)

  • This 4-week course focuses heavily on the techniques and details of Copperplate Calligraphy (Roundhand style). We will cover both lowercase letters and uppercase letters.

  • Optional assignments will be provided each week where assignments are focused on practicing letter connections for additional feedback

  • 2 hours weekly , 4 sessions, total 8 hours contact time

  • Recommended for students with a little bit of experience in either Copperplate Calligraphy or Modern Calligraphy and wishes to dive in and learn the intricate details of Copperplate Calligraphy script.

  • Classes to be completed within 3 months from start date.

• Extension Course - 4-week Copperplate Calligraphy Program (Advanced ) - USD$490 (SGD$650)

  • This 6-weeks course focuses heavily on refining our uppercase letterforms, letter spacing, word spacing and practice achieving consistency for longer texts. Alternative Lowercase and Uppercase letter variations will be introduced as we progress through practice.

  • 2 hours weekly , 4 sessions, total 8 hours contact time

  • Recommended for students with experience in either Copperplate Calligraphy

  • Classes to be completed within 3 months from start date.

• Introduction to Letter Flourishing (4-weeks) - USD375 (SGD 500)

  • Our flourishing course will cover both lowercase and uppercase letters over the course of 4 weeks.

  • 2 hours weekly , 4 sessions, total 8 hours contact time

  • Recommended for students with some experience with pointed pen calligraphy scripts like Copperplate calligraphy.

  • For nicnkotori students, it is recommended that you at least complete an extension course before signing up for this class
