Our 3 session Introduction to Pointed Pen Calligraphy online course includes 6 hours of class time with us. In this course, we will introduce the foundations that you will require to get yourself started with pointed pen calligraphy. This includes an introduction to a selected range of pointed pen calligraphy styles that we can create with a pointed pen tool, live demonstration of its application in modern-day usage and actual practice of the suggested pointed pen styles. Throughout the class, will primarily focus on practicing 1 calligraphy styles - a neat traditional version (Copperplate Calligraphy) and share our approach to creating a contemporary style (Our signature modern calligraphy script).

Our 6-week extension intermediate course covers 12 hours worth of lesson time with us.
In this course, students that have went through our 2-week Introduction to Pointed Pen Calligraphy Course will benefit greatly with this 6-weeks class. Alternatively, if you have had some experience practicing Copperplate Calligraphy script (Roundhand based) and wishes study the letterforms more intently, you will find this course beneficial as well.
Between Week 1 and 3, we will focus on the letterforms related to the lowercase letters of Copperplate Calligraphy script. The concept of skeleton and structure analysis will be introduced and students will learn how we analysis and practice the lowercase scripts for Copperplate Calligraphy. You will be trained to have a keen eye for detail. Between Week 4 and 6, students will work on letterform study and analysis of Uppercase letters.

In this course, students must have completed “Extension Course: Copperplate Calligraphy (Intermediate)” or have had equivalent experience.
In Week 1 & 2, we will build on the knowledge gained from previous intermediate class review and improve on Uppercase letterforms. In Week 3 to Week 6, we will focus on letter spacing, word spacing and practice achieving consistency for longer texts. Alternative Lowercase and Uppercase letter variations will be introduced as we progress through practice.

Our 4-week Letter Flourishing (Beginner) course covers 8 hours worth of lesson time with us.
In this course, students should have experience with Copperplate Calligraphy forms. This course teaches you letter flourishing theory, provides you with a set of flourishing varieties that can be readily applied immediately, as well as flourishing design techniques to create attractive flourishes that intersects beautifully.
Students will learn general flourishing techniques to apply to lowercase and uppercase letters.

What to expect
Students have the option to sign up for the class with or without a starter kit
Students signing up without a starter kit will receive a materials list. Singapore-based students should be able to purchase the tools you need at Plaza Singapura area.
The class is held live. The class will also be recorded. If you are unable to attend the sessions at the stipulated timings, you are also free to sign up to the class and view class recordings posted in our online classroom.
All learning resources compiled for our classes will be uploaded on our online classroom. Confirmed students will receive access to our online classroom and will receive a 1 month access after the end of our last class session.
Resources include – digital copies of our class worksheets, calligraphy exemplars, instructor’s in-class demonstration notes and video recordings of the sessions
All sessions will be recorded and uploaded in our online classroom platform within the next 24 hours
Class assignments will be provided after each session (However, assignments are optional)
If students were to attempt class assignments, feedback will be provided.
Starter Kit
Our starter kit is currently only available to our Singapore-based students. The kit will be sent via a courier to your delivery address. Here is what’s included in your starter kit:
Calligraphy Pen - Nib holder (1 piece)
A pot of ink (30 ml)
Calligraphy nib
Printed copies of our notes, practice sheets and calligraphy guidelines
Acrylic painted cards (Refer to the image product listing image : Live in the moment)
